- Referrer reward
- Inviter earns 15% (VIP 0) to 40% (VIP 5) of your fees in CET; Ambassadors start at 40%, paid in USDT.
- KYCKnow Your Customer: identity verification with an ID document and often a selfie, required by regulated platforms before bonuses or withdrawals.

- Yes. Referral rewards arrive as CET in your account. Reward Center airdrops are freely transferable; cashback rewards expire.
- Availability
- Not available in the US, Canada, UK, EEA, Switzerland, mainland China, Hong Kong, Kazakhstan and sanctioned countries.
- How the bonus unlocksWhat you must do (deposit, trade a volume, hold funds) before the bonus becomes usable or withdrawable.
- Register with the code (or bind it within 7 days) and trade. Rewards halve after 6 months and stop after 12.
How to claim it, step by step
- Step 1
Open the CoinEx sign-up page with the code
Use a referral link or type the code into the Referral code (optional) field. The sign-up form shows the inviter's code before you submit.
- Step 2
Create the account and secure it
Register with email or phone, then turn on 2FA. Identity verification is optional for spot and futures trading, but needed for P2P and some campaigns.
- Step 3
Missed the field? Bind the code within 7 days
Go to Avatar → Account Overview → Click to enter (web) or tap the Forgot to enter referral code? banner in the app. After 7 days the option disappears.
- Step 4
Deposit and start trading
Fund the account with crypto and trade spot, margin or futures. The rebate is calculated from the fees you pay and lands as CET the following day.
- Step 5
Check the Reward Center for newcomer tasks
Open Avatar → Reward Center and claim any new-user tasks shown for your account. Note that fee cashback rewards pause referral rebates while they are active.
Search for a CoinEx referral code and you will find promises of “$2,000 bonuses” and “40% off fees” attached to random five-letter strings. CoinEx’s own help center tells a quieter story. A code links you to an inviter, the inviter earns a slice of every fee you pay, and they may hand part of that slice back to you. The payout comes in CET, CoinEx’s exchange token, and it runs on a clock: full strength for six months, half strength for the next six, then nothing.
That is still a decent deal for an active trader, because CoinEx charges a relatively high 0.2% base spot fee. This review walks through every number CoinEx publishes, the exclusions that switch the rebate off, and what the code is worth at different trading volumes.
- 15–40%of your fees go to the inviter, by their VIP level
- 12 monthstotal rebate lifetime, halved after month 6
- 7 daysto bind a code if you skipped it at sign-up
- $10,000daily withdrawal limit without KYC
How the CoinEx referral code works
CoinEx runs one referral system for regular users. When someone signs up with a code, CoinEx calculates a referral ratioThe share of your trading fees that the exchange pays out through the referral program. On CoinEx it depends on the inviter's VIP level. on every fee that person pays. The inviter’s base ratio is set automatically by their VIP level. While creating a code, the inviter chooses a “friend referral ratio”, which is the part of their reward that goes back to the new user.
| Inviter’s VIP level | Inviter’s base referral ratio | What it means for you |
|---|---|---|
| VIP 0 (regular user) | 15% | Your share is carved out of 15% |
| VIP 1 | 20% | Up to 20% available to split |
| VIP 2 | 25% | Up to 25% available to split |
| VIP 3 | 30% | Up to 30% available to split |
| VIP 4 | 35% | Up to 35% available to split |
| VIP 5 | 40% | Up to 40% available to split |
CoinEx Ambassadors, its approved promotional partners, start at a minimum of 40%, get paid in USDT instead of CET, and their referral rewards do not expire under the 12-month rule. Nothing in the rules guarantees that an Ambassador shares more with you, though. The size of your rebate is always a choice the inviter makes.
The 6-month and 12-month cut-off
This is the detail nearly every CoinEx code page leaves out. The referral relationship has a fixed lifespan that starts the day you register, not the day you first trade.
| Period after registration | Rebate strength | Example: inviter shares 10% of fees |
|---|---|---|
| Months 1–6 | Full | 10% of your fees back in CET |
| Months 7–12 | Halved | 5% of your fees back in CET |
| Month 13 onward | None | 0% |
So if you open an account today and only start trading seriously in month five, you get barely a month at full rate. The practical advice: register with a code when you are ready to trade, not months before.
What the rebate is worth in real money
CoinEx’s published fee table puts a regular VIP 0 account at 0.2% for spot trades, or 0.16% with CET deductionPaying your trading fees in CoinEx's own token, CET, which gives a discount on spot and margin fees. It does not work on futures. switched on. Perpetual futures cost 0.03% for makers and 0.05% for takers. If the difference between those two is new to you, our guide to maker vs taker fees explains it in a few minutes.
Here is what a 10% rebate would return on spot at the standard 0.2% rate, during the full-strength first six months:
| Monthly spot volume | Fees at 0.2% | 10% rebate per month | Total over first 6 months |
|---|---|---|---|
| $1,000 | $2 | $0.20 | $1.20 |
| $10,000 | $20 | $2 | $12 |
| $50,000 | $100 | $10 | $60 |
| $200,000 | $400 | $40 | $240 |
Add months seven to twelve at half rate and the $50,000-a-month trader ends the year with about $90 in CET. For futures the numbers shrink, because the fee per trade is far lower: $100,000 of taker volume costs $50 in fees, so a 10% rebate is $5. CoinEx’s referral program rewards spot activity much more than futures activity.
Open Referral PageRebates are paid in CET, and you can withdraw them
Regular referral rewards are credited in CET, usually the day after the trades happen, with occasional delays. CET is a normal token on CoinEx: you can sell it, hold it or use it for fee deduction. There is no voucher, no expiry and no lock-up on the referral reward itself, which puts CoinEx ahead of exchanges that pay invitees only in fee coupons.
The catch is price exposure. Your rebate is calculated in fee value but delivered in a token whose price moves. If CET drops 20% before you sell, so does your rebate. Many users simply leave CET deduction switched on so the rebate gets recycled into cheaper fees.
Welcome tasks and the Reward Center
CoinEx’s referral rules do not include a fixed sign-up bonus. New-user rewards live in a separate place, the Reward Center, where CoinEx posts time-limited tasks such as deposit or trading-volume targets. CoinEx has promoted newcomer packages of up to $100 there, but the task list changes and is shown per account, so check yours after registering rather than trusting a number on a code site.
The Reward Center pays two kinds of rewards, and they behave very differently:
- Token airdrops go straight to your Spot account and can be transferred or traded freely.
- Cashback rewards refund eligible trading fees hourly, expire at the end of a fixed term (unused amounts included), and are applied one at a time.
CoinEx also runs separate deposit bonus campaigns. These have their own registration step, count only on-chain deposits, rank people by net deposit and pay within 7 business days as cashback or airdrops. They are not linked to your referral code. If you are comparing headline numbers, our explainer on fake and inflated crypto bonuses shows how “up to” figures get built.
Exclusions that cancel the rebate
CoinEx lists a handful of cases where no referral reward is paid at all:
- Trades covered by a Cashback Reward, as explained above.
- Accounts classed as market makers. If you qualify for market-maker rates, the referral link pays nothing.
- AMM markets. CoinEx first deducts AMM profits from the fees, then calculates the reward on what remains.
- Self-referral. Inviting your own second account is banned, and CoinEx revokes rewards on both sides if it finds it.
Trades from your sub-accounts do count, which matters if you run separate sub-accounts for bots or strategies.
Can you add a CoinEx code after signing up?
Yes, and that is unusual. CoinEx gives you a 7-day window after registration to bind a code. On the web, open Account Overview from the avatar menu and click the referral entry in the top-right corner. In the app, tap the “Forgot to enter referral code?” banner in the Personal Center. Once those 7 days pass, the entry disappears and the account stays unlinked for good.
Once bound, a code cannot be swapped for a better one, so compare the friend ratio before you confirm.
KYC and regional limits
CoinEx is one of the larger exchanges that still lets you trade without identity checks. Unverified accounts can withdraw up to $10,000 per 24 hours and $50,000 per 30 days. Primary verification raises the daily limit to $1,000,000 and is required for P2P trading, CoinEx Mining, the Airdrop Station and “other in-site activities”, which can include some promotions. CoinEx can also demand KYC at any time if a risk check is triggered. Our guide to KYC for crypto bonuses covers what that usually involves.
Access is a bigger hurdle. CoinEx’s prohibited jurisdictions list includes the United States, mainland China, Hong Kong, Canada, the entire European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, Switzerland, Kazakhstan, Iran, North Korea and Cuba. Using a VPN to get around it is explicitly banned and can lead to frozen funds. If you live in one of those places, look at the region-friendly options in our exchange referral programs overview.
How CoinEx compares with other exchange codes
CoinEx sits in the middle of the pack. Its rebate is paid in a liquid token and the code can be added late, both real advantages. The 12-month expiry and the lack of a published invitee rate count against it. BingX’s referral program lets inviters share a rebate that does not expire, but pays most new-user rewards as futures Trial Funds. MEXC’s referral code page is worth a look if low base fees matter more to you than a rebate. For the mechanics behind all of these splits, see how referral kickbacks work.
What works
- A referral code can still be bound up to 7 days after registration, which most large exchanges do not allow.
- Referral rewards are paid in CET straight to your account the next day, not as locked vouchers.
- CoinEx publishes its full VIP-based referral ratio table (15/20/25/30/35/40%) in the help center.
- No identity verification is needed to trade or to receive fee rebates; unverified withdrawals go up to $10,000 per day.
Watch out for
- The rebate is halved after 6 months and ends completely 12 months after you register.
- CoinEx does not publish a fixed invitee discount; your share depends entirely on what the inviter chose to give away.
- Trades paid with a Cashback Reward from the Reward Center generate no referral rebate for either side.
- The US, Canada, the UK, the whole EEA and Switzerland are on CoinEx's prohibited jurisdictions list.
A CoinEx referral code is worth using if you plan to trade actively in your first year, especially on spot, where the 0.2% base fee makes any rebate noticeable. Treat it as a 12-month fee discount that shrinks halfway through, not as a sign-up bonus, and check the friend ratio shown with the code before you register.
