This privacy policy applies to the website cryptoreferral.org and all its language versions. It explains what personal data is processed when you use the site, why, and what you can do about it. We have tried to write it in plain language. If anything is unclear, email us at contact@cryptoreferral.org.
Who is responsible
CryptoReferral, the independent resource that publishes this website, is responsible for the personal data described in this policy. You can reach us about anything related to privacy at contact@cryptoreferral.org.
A static site with no accounts
CryptoReferral is built as a static website. Each page is a ready-made file served to your browser. There is no sign-up, no login, no user profile, no comment section, no newsletter form and no contact form. We do not ask you to type in any personal data anywhere on the site.
That design choice is deliberate: the less data a site collects, the less there is to protect, lose or misuse.
Server logs kept by our hosting provider
Like every website, CryptoReferral has to be delivered from a server. When your browser requests a page, the company that hosts the site automatically processes some technical information to deliver it and to keep the service secure. This typically includes:
- your IP address,
- the date and time of the request,
- the page or file requested,
- your browser type and operating system, as sent in the user agent,
- the referring page, if your browser sends it,
- the response status and amount of data transferred.
This information is used to deliver pages, to detect and block abuse such as attacks or excessive automated traffic, and to diagnose technical problems. The legal basis is our legitimate interest in running a secure, working website. Logs are kept by the hosting provider for a limited period under its own retention settings and are not used by us to build profiles of visitors or to identify individuals. We do not combine log data with other sources.
The hosting provider may process this data on servers outside your country. Where that involves transfers out of the European Economic Area or the UK, we rely on the safeguards the provider offers, such as standard contractual clauses.
Cookies and analytics
The site itself sets no tracking cookies. It does not use advertising cookies, social media tracking pixels or cross-site trackers, and it does not load scripts, fonts or images from third-party servers. Because no non-essential cookies are set, you will not see a cookie banner here.
CryptoReferral currently runs no analytics service. We do not measure individual visits, sessions or clicks. If we ever add an analytics tool, we will update this policy before or at the same time it goes live, describe what the tool collects and, where the law requires it, ask for your consent first.
Some small conveniences on the site, such as the button that copies a referral code to your clipboard, run entirely in your own browser. Nothing you copy is sent to us.
Links to other websites
Our pages link to crypto exchanges, wallets, apps and their help centers. When you follow one of those links, you leave CryptoReferral, and the other site’s own privacy policy applies. Those sites may set their own cookies, track your visit and, if you sign up, collect personal data and identity documents. We have no control over that processing and no access to the data they collect. Please read the privacy policy of any platform before you register or verify your identity there.
When you email us
If you write to contact@cryptoreferral.org, we receive your email address, your name if you include it, and whatever you put in the message and attachments. We use this only to read and answer your message and, if you report an error, to correct the relevant page. The legal basis is our legitimate interest in responding to people who contact us, or steps you ask us to take.
We keep correspondence for as long as it is needed to handle your request and for a reasonable period afterwards in case you follow up. We do not add you to any mailing list, and we do not sell, rent or share your email with platforms or anyone else, except with the provider that hosts our mailbox, which processes email on our behalf.
Please do not send us account passwords, recovery phrases, private keys, identity documents or similar sensitive data. We will never ask for them, and we would delete them on receipt.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, including under the EU and UK General Data Protection Regulation, you have rights over your personal data. In particular you can ask us to:
- access the personal data we hold about you and get a copy of it,
- correct data that is inaccurate or incomplete,
- delete your data where there is no longer a reason to keep it,
- restrict how we use your data in certain circumstances,
- object to processing based on our legitimate interests,
- port data you gave us to another service, where that applies.
In practice, the only personal data we can link to you is correspondence you have sent us. Server logs are held by the hosting provider and are generally not tied to a named person, so we may not be able to identify you from them.
To use any of these rights, email contact@cryptoreferral.org. We may ask for information to confirm the request comes from you. We aim to reply within one month. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the data protection authority in the country where you live or work.
Children
CryptoReferral is not aimed at children. Crypto platforms generally require users to be adults, and we do not knowingly collect personal data from anyone under the age of digital consent in their country.
Security
Because there are no accounts or forms, the main data we hold is email correspondence. The site is served over an encrypted HTTPS connection, and access to our mailbox is limited to the editorial team.
Changes to this policy
If what the site collects changes, for example if we add analytics, we will update this page to reflect it before or as the change takes effect. Significant changes will be described clearly on this page. Our terms of use and disclaimer cover other aspects of using the site.
