- KYCKnow Your Customer: identity verification with an ID document and often a selfie, required by regulated platforms before bonuses or withdrawals.
- Not required for wallet sign-up; the terms allow Aster to request limited identity checks.

- Applies to new users who join through the link. Valid 365 days. Rebates are credited by the next day.
How to claim it, step by step
- Step 1
Open the referral link before connecting
Use a referral link. Aster's program only counts new users who sign up via the link, so a wallet that already traded on Aster will not qualify.
- Step 2
Pick a chain and connect your wallet
Choose the chain from the dropdown, then connect Rabby, MetaMask, Binance Wallet or a WalletConnect wallet and sign the message. On BNB Chain the wallet must hold at least 0.001 BNB.
- Step 3
Or log in with email
Email login creates a wallet for you after a 6-digit code and a password. It only accepts USDT on Arbitrum One deposits.
- Step 4
Deposit collateral
Click Deposit, choose the network and token and approve it in your wallet. The balance appears in your Portfolio after a short wait.
- Step 5
Check your rebate on the Referral page
After your first trades, your rebate is calculated daily at 00:00 UTC and credited to your Aster account by the next day.
An Aster referral code is not a fixed discount. Aster sets aside a default 10% commission on the trading fees of every referred user, and the person who invited you chooses how to split it: all for themselves, half and half, or everything back to you. So “Aster referral code” can mean 0%, 5% or 10% off your fees, and you only see which one when the link is applied.
This review covers how the split works, why Aster’s zero maker fee makes the rebate smaller than it sounds, the separate airdrop-points invite codes that many sites mix up with the referral program, and who is barred from using Aster at all.
- 10%commission pool per referral, split by your inviter
- 365 daysdefault life of the referral relationship
- 0.04%standard taker fee on Aster Pro crypto perps
- 0%maker fee, so rebates only apply to taker trades
How the Aster referral split works
Aster’s docs describe the program in a few lines. The referrer generates a link on the Referral page and shares it. Each referred user’s trading fees generate a 10% commission. The referrer can keep it all or pass part back: the docs’ own example is 5% kept and 5% returned “as a discount on their fees”.
| Inviter’s choice | Inviter keeps | You get back | On $100 of fees |
|---|---|---|---|
| Keep everything | 10% | 0% | $0 |
| Even split (Aster’s example) | 5% | 5% | $5 |
| Pass everything back | 0% | 10% | $10 |
| Approved affiliate, VIP 1 user | 20% | Depends on split | Up to $20 |
The last row explains why some code sites quote 20%. Aster lets high-volume referrers apply for an upgraded affiliate rate: approved affiliates get 20% from referred VIP 1 users and 10% from VIP 2 and above. That is the affiliate’s commission, not a published discount for you.
The zero-maker catch: what the rebate is worth
On Aster Pro, the order book mode, standard crypto perpetuals charge 0% maker and 0.04% taker at the base VIP level. A group of riskier “Group B” pairs carries a 0.1% taker fee, and real-world-asset perps charge 0.0125% taker. Maker fees are zero across all VIP tiers.
That matters, because a percentage of zero is zero. If you mostly place limit orders that rest in the book, your fees are already nil and a referral rebate adds nothing. The rebate only pays on taker fees. Aster also excludes liquidation fees, self-trade volume and zero-fee volume from the commission calculation. Our maker vs taker fees guide explains which order types count as which.
| Monthly taker volume | Fees at 0.04% | 5% rebate | 10% rebate |
|---|---|---|---|
| $20,000 | $8 | $0.40 | $0.80 |
| $100,000 | $40 | $2.00 | $4.00 |
| $1,000,000 | $400 | $20.00 | $40.00 |
| $5,000,000 | $2,000 | $100.00 | $200.00 |
Across the 365-day validity, a trader doing $1M a month in taker volume gets back $240 with a 5% code or $480 with a 10% code. Someone trading $20,000 a month gets less than $10 a year. Worth taking, but no reason to trade more.
Open Referral PageOnly new users, only through the link
Two rules decide whether you get anything. First, only new users who sign up via the referral link are eligible. If your wallet has already used Aster, opening a link later does nothing. Second, the relationship lasts 365 days by default. Aster may extend it, but nothing guarantees that.
Self-referral is banned outright: inviting yourself through multiple accounts gets all rewards revoked. Aster also reserves the right to change rates or cancel the program at any time. Rebates are calculated daily at 00:00 UTC, the rates update at 09:00 UTC, and the referral page statistics lag by 1 to 2 hours. Payment arrives by the next day in whichever asset you paid the fee in, for example USDT.
The docs describe the program as covering trades on Aster Perps. They do not say whether 1001x, Aster’s separate high-leverage mode, or spot trading count. 1001x has a different fee model: 0.08% to open and 0.08% to close, a dynamic close fee for 500x and higher, and an execution fee of $0.50 on BNB Chain or $0.20 on Arbitrum. If those modes matter to you, check the Referral page after a test trade.
No-KYC sign-up, chains and gas costs
Aster is a perp DEX, so there is no account form and no ID check for normal use. You pick a chain from the dropdown, connect a wallet (Rabby, MetaMask, Binance Wallet or WalletConnect) and sign a message. If you connect on BNB Chain, the wallet needs at least 0.001 BNB. Deposits are an on-chain transfer, so you pay that chain’s gas, and the funds show up in your Portfolio after a short wait.
Email login is the beginner route: enter your email, type in the 6-digit code, set a password, and Aster creates a wallet for you. The catch is that email accounts accept only USDT on Arbitrum One. Send another token or use another network and Aster says it is not liable for refunds.
Airdrop points and invite codes are a different system
Much of the noise around “Aster referral codes” actually concerns Aster’s airdrop campaigns, run in numbered stages. The latest stage documented when we checked, Aster Convergence: Stage 6, scores weekly points from trading, open positions, using Aster assets as margin, liquidations and profit and loss. The points count toward a share of an $ASTER airdrop at the end of the stage.
These campaigns use invite codes bound on the campaign page, separate from the fee referral link. They pay in points, not fees. An inviter earns a share of first-level and second-level invitees’ base points, with first-level worth more. Every referral family also forms a team whose combined hourly points unlock a team boost: 1.05x at 3,000,000 team points, then 1.10x, 1.15x and 1.20x at 15M, 45M and 90M. Aster does not publish the exact formulas or weightings, and it reserves the right to adjust “farmed” points. If you want to know how multi-tier schemes like this work, read our guide to multi-level referral systems.
Campaigns also hand out BonusUSD, a futures bonus token you can use as collateral on Aster Pro on BNB Chain. It cannot be withdrawn, though profits made with it can. Treat it like the position vouchers on centralized exchanges, which our guide on fake crypto bonuses breaks down.
Risks the rebate does not touch
Aster Pro supports multi-asset collateral and settles in USDT. Losses, funding and fees can leave a token balance negative, and you have to rebalance before withdrawing. Liquidations and auto-deleveragingAuto-deleveraging closes profitable traders' positions against a bankrupt position when the insurance fund cannot absorb the loss. apply as on any perp venue, and on 1001x the leverage itself is the risk: at those levels a tiny move wipes out the margin. Your funds also sit in smart contracts across several chains, so a contract or bridge failure is a real if unlikely loss, and no help desk can reverse a wrong-network transfer.
Who can use Aster
Aster’s terms prohibit anyone living in, located in or incorporated in the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom, China, North Korea, Russia, Ukraine, Cuba, Iran, Venezuela or Syria, plus any sanctioned territory, and you must not use tools to get around location checks. That rules out more people than most perp DEXs do.
If you are eligible, compare Aster’s up-to-10% rebate with Hyperliquid’s fixed 4% discount. Hyperliquid’s discount is smaller but does not depend on what your inviter chooses. Browse the full perp DEX category for other on-chain options.
What works
- Up to 10% of your trading fees returned for 365 days, if your inviter passes the full share to you.
- Rebates are paid in the same asset you paid fees in, not in points or vouchers.
- No KYC for wallet sign-up, and email login works for people without a wallet.
- The referral rules, including excluded volume, are published in Aster's docs.
Watch out for
- Your discount depends on your inviter's split; the default example is only 5%.
- Maker fees on Pro perps are 0%, so the rebate only helps on taker orders.
- Existing users cannot join through a link later, and the relationship expires after 365 days by default.
- Aster's terms prohibit users in the US, Canada, the UK, China, Russia, Ukraine and several sanctioned countries.
An Aster referral code is worth using if you trade taker-heavy on Aster Pro perps and find a code that passes most of the 10% back to you. Check the split before you sign up, because a 0% split gives you nothing, and remember that the rebate cannot offset liquidation risk or high leverage.
