ZebPay is one of the oldest crypto apps in India, and its referral program reflects that: modest, clearly documented and built around rupee trading. A ZebPay referral code does not hand you free Bitcoin. It gives you a 10% discount on the fee of your first trade above ₹5,000, and it lets the friend who invited you earn a slice of the fees on your first three trades. Most code pages blur those two sides together, so this review splits them apart and puts real rupee numbers on each.
Everything below comes from ZebPay’s own help center article on the Refer & Earn program, its QuickTrade fee page and its TDS guide. Where ZebPay’s pages contradict each other, you will see that called out.
- 10%fee discount on your first trade above ₹5,000
- 50%top share of your fees the inviter can earn
- 3 tradeshow many of your trades generate inviter rewards
- ₹14,500inviter's yearly cap (or 150 USDT)
What a ZebPay referral code actually gives you
There are two parts to the deal, and only one of them is yours.
| Part of the offer | Who gets it | What it is worth | Limit |
|---|---|---|---|
| First-trade fee discount | You (the referee) | 10% off one trade fee | First trade above ₹5,000 |
| Fee share | The inviter | 5% to 50% of your fees | Your first 3 trades |
| Annual cap | The inviter | Up to ₹14,500 or 150 USDT | Per financial year |
The new-user benefit is narrow on purpose. It applies once, to one trade, and only if that trade is above ₹5,000 and placed on QuickTrade or Exchange in an INR or USDT pair. If your first purchase is ₹2,000 of Bitcoin, the discount does not trigger on it.
The 10% discount in rupees: small but real
ZebPay states that QuickTrade fees start from 0.5% of the trade amount, with 18% GST charged on top of the fee. That makes the referral discount easy to price.
| Your first trade | Fee at 0.5% | 10% discount saves | GST on the fee |
|---|---|---|---|
| ₹5,001 | ₹25 | ₹2.50 | ₹4.50 |
| ₹20,000 | ₹100 | ₹10 | ₹18 |
| ₹1,00,000 | ₹500 | ₹50 | ₹90 |
| ₹5,00,000 | ₹2,500 | ₹250 | ₹450 |
For a typical first purchase of ₹10,000 to ₹25,000, the code saves you roughly the price of a cup of chai. That is fine for something you get by typing a few characters, but it should never be the reason you pick an exchange. Fees, coin selection, INR deposit options and withdrawal costs matter far more over a year of use. Our explainer on maker vs taker fees shows why order type moves the needle more than any one-time discount.
Open Referral PageHow the inviter’s reward is calculated
The more interesting half of the program sits on the inviter’s side. ZebPay pays the referrer a share of the referee’s trading fees, and the share grows with the size of the referee’s trades. Here is the published table:
| Referee’s trade amount | Inviter’s share of fees |
|---|---|
| Up to ₹1,000 (up to 10 USDT) | 5% |
| ₹1,000 to ₹10,000 (10 to 100 USDT) | 15% |
| ₹10,000 to ₹50,000 (100 to 600 USDT) | 25% |
| Above ₹50,000 (above 600 USDT) | 50% |
Only the referee’s first three trades count. After that, nothing more flows to the inviter from that friend. Put a number on it: if your friend makes three QuickTrade buys of ₹60,000 each at 0.5%, each trade carries a ₹300 fee, the inviter receives 50% of that, and the total reward is ₹450. If the same friend makes three ₹8,000 trades instead, the fee is ₹40 per trade, the share is 15% and the total is ₹18.
The ₹14,500 yearly cap tells you who this program is really built for. To hit it at the 50% rate on QuickTrade’s 0.5% fee, your referees would need to generate ₹29,000 in fees across their first trades, which means roughly ₹58 lakh of trading. That is far more than ordinary friends and family will ever trade. In practice the cap only matters for creators with a large audience.
Where the reward goes and why you cannot cash it out
ZebPay credits referral rewards straight to the inviter’s ZebPay wallet once a day, at 11:00 PM IST, for the cycle that ran from 10:00 PM IST the previous day. Nobody has to claim anything. The catch is in one sentence of the help article: rewards cannot be withdrawn to a bank account. They can be used for trading on QuickTrade and Exchange.
That changes what the reward is worth. A ₹450 referral payout behaves like trading credit, not like ₹450 in your bank. You can convert it into crypto through a trade, and then the crypto is yours, but the rupee balance itself has no route to your bank as a referral payout. This is a common pattern on Indian platforms, and we cover the broader version of it in our guide to fake and misleading crypto bonuses.
How to invite friends on ZebPay
If you already use ZebPay and want to share your own code, there is one activation step that many users miss. Open QuickTrade, tap the Gift Box icon, read the referral terms and tap I Accept. Until you do that, your referral account is not active. After activation you can share your code or link with as many people as you like; ZebPay sets no limit on the number of referees.
For a referral to count, your friend has to:
- sign up using your code or link,
- complete KYC,
- make a first trade on QuickTrade or Exchange in an INR or USDT pair.
Rewards start only after that first trade. A friend who signs up and never trades earns you nothing.
Who can use the ZebPay referral program
The program is limited to Indian users on both sides. ZebPay operates in India as a reporting entity registered with the Financial Intelligence Unit (FIU-IND), which is why full KYC is mandatory before any trade. Expect to provide your PAN and identity documents, and to be at least 18 years old. Our walkthrough of KYC for crypto bonuses explains what each document is used for.
The program also leaves out several products. Futures, lending and crypto transfers do not count toward rewards and do not earn the discount. If you are mainly interested in futures trading, a ZebPay code adds nothing to that side of your activity.
Indian tax on crypto rewards and trades
Two rules shape how much of any crypto reward you keep. First, profits from selling virtual digital assets are taxed at a flat 30% plus surcharge and cess, with no deduction for expenses other than the cost of acquisition. Second, a 1% TDS applies to sales and transfers of crypto above the annual thresholds (₹10,000 for most users, ₹50,000 for specified persons). ZebPay deducts that TDS on your behalf, shows it in your order history and statement, and it appears in your Form 26AS so you can adjust it when you file.
For referral rewards specifically, treat any crypto you receive as income to be reported, and remember that selling it later sits under the same 30% regime. Our guide to how referral rewards are taxed goes through the reporting side in more detail. None of this is tax advice; check your own situation with a professional.
ZebPay vs CoinDCX: which code is worth more
If you are choosing between Indian exchanges, the referral offers are not the deciding factor, but they do differ in shape.
| Question | ZebPay | CoinDCX |
|---|---|---|
| New-user benefit | 10% off one trade fee | Campaign-based, shown in the app |
| Inviter earns | 5–50% of fees on 3 trades | Fee share on referred users’ trades |
| Cash-out | Not to a bank | Depends on the campaign |
| Futures counted | No | Some campaigns are futures-based |
ZebPay’s program is easier to understand because the whole table is published. CoinDCX’s referral program tends to run in time-limited campaigns that change the rate and cap. If you are comparing global platforms too, our exchanges hub lines up referral terms across larger venues.
Is a ZebPay referral code worth it for you?
| Your profile | What to expect | Our take |
|---|---|---|
| First-time buyer, ₹5,000 to ₹25,000 | ₹2.50 to ₹12.50 off one fee | Use it, but it changes nothing |
| Active INR trader | One discounted trade, then standard fees | Fees and VIP terms matter more |
| Creator with a large audience | Fee share on 3 trades per friend, ₹14,500 cap | Workable, but the cap is tight |
| Futures trader | Futures excluded | No benefit |
The honest summary: a ZebPay referral code is free money in the smallest sense of the word. It will not hurt, it saves you a few rupees on the first trade, and it rewards the person who recommended the app. Just do not expect a sign-up bonus in the style of global exchanges, and do not count on the inviter’s reward as withdrawable cash.
What works
- ZebPay publishes the full reward table: 5%, 15%, 25% or 50% of the referee's fees depending on trade size.
- The referee's 10% fee discount needs no extra deposit beyond a first trade above ₹5,000.
- Rewards are credited automatically to the ZebPay wallet every day at 11:00 PM IST, with no manual claim.
- There is no limit on how many friends one referral code can invite.
Watch out for
- The invitee benefit is a one-time 10% discount on a single trade fee, worth ₹10 on a ₹20,000 QuickTrade buy at 0.5%.
- Referral rewards cannot be withdrawn to a bank account; they can only be used for trading on QuickTrade and Exchange.
- The inviter earns only on the referee's first 3 trades, not for life.
- Futures, lending and crypto transfers are outside the program, and only Indian users can take part.
Use a ZebPay referral code if you already plan to open a ZebPay account: it costs nothing and trims the fee on your first trade above ₹5,000. Do not choose ZebPay because of the code. The discount covers one trade, and the inviter's reward is a three-trade fee share that stays locked inside the app.
